The Bass Museum's Annual VIP Art Basel Bash Attracted Celebrities and Art Stars from Around the World

MIAMI BEACH, FL (December 4, 2008) - Over 3,200 people attended the VIP reception for the Bass Museum's highly anticipated annual Art Basel Miami Beach bash on Wednesday December 3. Guests included supermodel Naomi Campbell; Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich's girlfriend, Dasha Zhukova; New York City's blue chip art dealer Jeffrey Deitch; art world icon Sam Keller; the granddaughter of the late Israeli Defense minister Moshe, Dayanone (and one of vogue's top ten best-dressed women) Amalia Dayan; art collector Adam Lindemann; media tycoon George Sr and Frayda Lindemann; artists Wendell Castle and Nancy Jurs; and Art Basel co- directors Annette Schönholzer and Marc Spiegler.

Knight CEO and president Alberto Ibargüen and his wife Susan were also present, along with local art star Dara Friedman, Linda and Joe Oglesby, and Debbie and Jeff Weschler.

Guests were the first to view the highly anticipated blockbuster cutting-edge exhibition RUSSIAN DREAMS.... and PEDRO REYES: 47 UNDERTAKINGS, both currently open to the public. Newly appointed Executive Director and Chief Curator for the Bass, Silvia Karman Cubiñá (former director of the Moore Space), received rave reviews on the event, and congratulatory well wishes for her continued success.
